Rockcastle County has a lot to offer for outdoor enthusiasts, from canoeing on the Rockcastle River to fishing and boating on Lake Linville to hiking and caving in the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest.
Lake Linville
Located just off I-75, at exit 62, this 275 acre lake can fill your days, and even nights, with relaxing fun. The dock is one half mile north on Lake Linville Road. Bring your own boat for fishing and water skiing, or rent one of the many pontoons and paddle boats. There's even quiet little spots if you prefer fishing off the bank. Catfish, bluegill, bass (both large and small mouth), crappie and carp make this a lake for everyone. Camping is also available. Visit the cafe for delicious burgers every day and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday enjoy all you can eat fish and ribs that are guaranteed to melt in your mouth.

Anglin Falls
Although it's obvious by the eroded rock formation that water once fell forcefully off Anglin Falls, today's weather conditions determine the flow of water coming down from the rocks. Located in John B. Stephenson Memorial Forest, this rich wooded ravine is open to the public for hiking, bird watching and nature studying.
It is about a 3/4 mile hike from the parking area to the falls, with some steep climbing.
I-75 exit 62. US 25 to 1786 then left onto 1787 which turns into Hammond Fork Road. Go approximately 1 1/2 to 2 miles and turn right onto Anglin Fork Road (paved then gravel). Go .8 mile and turn left and then .2 miles to trail entrance.

Red hill Horse camp
Red Hill Horse Camp is one of the largest, privately owned horse camps within a two hour radius of Lexington. Located between exits 49- Livingston and 59 Mt. Vernon, KY, Red Hill Horse Camp is conveniently located off I-75 with easy access for large trailers to the camp. It is located adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest which offers a variety of trails for the novice and experienced horse rider.

Rockcastle Adventures Canoe Livery
The Rockcastle River is a state protected "wild river" and one of the most beautiful in the United States. Undeveloped, with few access points, the entire river flows through the very heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The only way to fully enjoy the solitude and adventure of exploring the river and forest, just as it was 200 years ago, is by canoe...a truly unique experience. Camp Wildcat
Visit this historic site where the Battle Of Wildcat Mountain took place and walk the trails blazed by Civil War soldiers, many of whom were facing fire for their first time. The hike takes approximately an hour and a half if you stop and read the wayside exhibits highlighting different points of the battle and general information of that era.
Take I-75 to exit 49. Turn east and go 0.6 miles on 909, then turn south onto US 25 and go 0.7 miles and turn left onto Hazel Patch Road. Take a left at the sign directing you to Camp Wildcat. The road leading to the gazebo where the trail begins is a gravel county road that under some conditions may not be passable by low clearance vehicles.
