
The nearest scheduled airline service is available in Lexington, Kentucky at the Bluegrass Airport. Smaller planes can fly into the London/Corbin Airport which is 30 miles south of Mt. Vernon.
The Rockcastle County Industrial Park is serviced by a CSX rail spur.
There are no trucking terminals located in Rockcastle County; however, LTL and dedicated trucking companies are readily available within 30 miles.
Rockcastle County is traversed north to south by one of Kentucky’s major interstate highways, I-75. The City of Mt. Vernon has two I-75 exits: Exit 59 and Exit 62. Downtown Mt. Vernon and the Rockcastle County Industrial Parks are located 3 miles from I-75, Exit 62. Other main highways include KY 461 which takes a course southwest to Somerset and Scenic Highway 25 (known as the Wilderness Road Highway) that connects to Berea and London.

Rural Transit Enterprises Coordinated, Inc. (RTEC) provides general public transportation for the residents of Rockcastle County. Transportation services can be scheduled by calling toll free 800-321-7832 or local 606- 256-9835. The central business office is located on Main Street in Mt. Vernon, which serves a 12-county rural area. Reservations for transportation can be made Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. or on Saturday, 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available.
