Lake Linville is quickly becoming south-central Kentucky’s best fishing lake. Blue Gill, Crappie, Red-Ear Sunfish and Hybrid Bass are the typical catch. The Rockcastle River is known for Walleye Pike, Catfish and Sunfish.

Rockcastle County has two horse camps available. The Red Hill Horse Camp just 4 miles outside Livingston and the Climax Horse Camp. Gary Lane offers “horse clinics” at Windswept Farms.

If you like to “treasure hunt”, visit Valley Treasures for a wide variety of antiques and collectibles.
Visit this historic site where the Battle Of Wildcat Mountain took place and walk the trails blazed by Civil War soldiers, many of whom were facing fire for their first time. The battlefield preserve offers miles of trails and interpretive signs along the way.

Renfro Valley, Kentucky is a music park and community located just off of Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. The park is centered around the barn, which since 1939 has hosted the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, a small local version of the Grand Ole Opry and the National Barn Dance. Renfro Valley is known throughout Kentucky and the rest of the country for hosting concerts that feature a mix-ture of legendary country singers with newer artists.
